The land on the Terceras is mainly devoted to crops of cereal and fodder which is used to feed the livestock. Due to this they can ensure that what the sheep eat is of the most natural and healthy and thus guaranteeing the quality of the manchego cheese. The countryside in Valdepeñas in general is characterized by vines and olive trees. Wine production is one of the most important sectors to the local economy.
